About Brodswood

Handmade in Gloucestershire

Brodswood, nestled in Gloucestershire, is a small rural enterprise owned by the wood artist, Nigel Broderick.

My passion for wood began in my school days, with weekly woodwork classes. It wasn't until much later that I truly appreciated the beauty of wood and its artistic potential, which inspired me to become a wood artist. My creations, ranging from wall art to garden sculptures, have been showcased across the nation and now reside in homes throughout the UK, Europe, and Africa. However, the increasing scarcity and cost of quality wood compelled me to explore alternative materials. During the pandemic, I began to hone new skills in woodworking, especially in the use of a scroll saw to produce smaller wood art.

Paula takes pleasure in participating in dog agility competitions, and her concept for a display for her rosettes blossomed into Brodswood in 2023. As lifelong pet enthusiasts, we understand the significance of creating meaningful bonds and preserving treasured memories with our pets. Our wooden products and trophies are designed to honor these special moments.

Each product is handcrafted from solid hardwood at our Gloucestershire retreat. The precision required for our complex designs is unattainable with CNC machines, and laser cutting burns the wood to ash. The fine detail of our hardwood gifts and trophies can only be achieved through the meticulous hand-cutting process using a traditional scroll saw with a blade less than half a millimeter wide.

Sometimes you just can't beat the original!
